Punta Gorda Isles

Location, location, location. Punta Gorda Isles offers waterfront living at its best. You'll find beautiful waterfront homes, condos and building lots in PGI. This area is among the very best boating communities in Southwest Florida. Attention Golfers: St. Andrew's South Golf Club is located in Punta Gorda Isles.

Punta Gorda Isles is a deed restricted type waterfront community, as such the city of Punta Gorda land use codes apply. PGI, like its sister community Burnt Store Isles, is a community of custom built homes and condominiums. The first residents of PGI moved into their homes in 1961. The Punta Gorda Isles Civic Association (PGICA) has summarized the history of Punta Gorda Isles. There is no homeowners association to join in Punta Gorda Isles. Homes and lots in Punta Gorda Isles have public water and sewers in place. There are approximately 6500 lots in Punta Gorda Isles. The canals are over 100 feet wide. The canal system and the seawalls are maintained by the city of Punta Gorda.  These seawalls are the property of the PGI Canal Maintenance District, not the individual property owners. Punta Gorda Isles is the only community that maintains the seawalls, seawall caps, dredges the canals and canal inlets. The vast majority of lots in PGI  have been built upon. The lots available for resale are privately owned. There is no restriction on building time.
PGI has an active voluntary membership civic association with many special topics clubs and social events.

Waterfront real estate house prices in Punta Gorda Isles start at around $200,000. You can still buy a great new non-waterfront condo in PGI for $120,000 but those prices are moving out of reach quickly. There is a strong demand for a limited supply of building lots. Punta Gorda Isles continues to be the premier boating community in Southwest Florida. The time to buy is now! Punta Gorda Isles is considered by many to be the best location in the County.

Punta Gorda (translated as Broad Point) has the charm of a small fishing village. There are no towering high rise buildings in Punta Gorda. The historic district adjoins Punta Gorda Isles. At the edge of the historic district, directly on Charlotte Harbor, you'll find the popular Fishermans Village with many shops, restaurants and King Fisher Fleet fishing trips and boat tours.

The area is a sailboat and powerboaters' paradise. PGI is a must see for those who enjoy fishing, boating, golf and an active community. For Punta Gorda Real Estate information call Florence Tanner, toll free 866-941-SAIL
